Skillit profiles are now public
Skillit profiles can now be discovered and shared by recruiters and craft professionals, without needing a Skillit account.
Our main goal with this release is to give craft professionals the same visibility and opportunity as knowledge professionals when their name, trade or location is Googled on the interweb.
For example, if you’re a knowledge professional, chances are the top search result for your name and occupation is your Linkedin profile.
When you’re a skilled trade or craft professional however, the top result might be your TikTok or Instagram account which at best isn’t designed to showcase your skills and at worst is an opportunity repellent 👷♂️🥺
Well the good news is that this is no longer a problem for Skillit members — 91% now have their Skillit profile as the top Google search result for their name and trade, ranking above their Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok accounts 👩🏭😍
There’s 100M+ construction professionals worldwide. If we want them to make an impact, they need the same easy access to opportunities that knowledge workers enjoy on LinkedIn 🌎.

For craft professionals
With a Skillit profile, craft professionals can actively shape their career paths by showcasing their skills and experience to potential employers. They can share their profiles easily through various platforms, allowing them to stand out in the industry.
In addition to connecting with employers, craft professionals can also engage with peers and industry leaders, fostering relationships that support professional growth and new opportunities. This control finally empowers them to make informed career decisions and take charge of their future in the construction industry.
For employers
Employers can now easily share Skillit craft worker profiles by copying and pasting the worker’s profile URL and sending it via email, SMS, or directly through their internal systems like an ATS. These public profiles can be shared with anyone involved in the hiring process, from HR managers and recruiters to site superintendents and foremen, giving all team members visibility into the sourcing process.
This update allows more collaboration within teams, enabling experts across different roles to contribute their insights and ensure that the right craft workers are matched to the right jobs based on specific skills and requirements.
When a craft worker matches an employer’s hiring requirements, they can simply copy their worker profile URL and share it via their preferred communication method - like email, SMS, or internal ATS.

In case you missed it, here’s what we launched in April 2024:
Get Personal: Employers now have the ability to update their company URL and description. This information will show up in the sidebar when workers view their messages.
Sprechen Sie Deutsch? ¿Hablas español? Employers can now filter search results by more than 10 languages. This feature functions the same way as Skillit’s Certifications filter: workers need to speak all languages checked in order to show up in a search. So if you’re only looking for skilled workers who speak Urdu, this is the filter for you.
You’ve got mail: We added a small update to ensure your inbox will now be properly sorted by the last message sent/received.
A better experience: Using the “Years of Experience” slider, workers who fall outside your criteria will no longer disappear from the search results–they’ll just be ranked lower than the workers that do match that criteria.
