About This Role

Join as a Boiler Tube Welder performing advanced welding, repair, and replacement of boiler tubes and pressure parts at power plants and industrial facilities in Morrilton, AR. This is hands-on outage and shutdown work that requires precision TIG (GTAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding, mirror welding skills, and strict code compliance. You’ll work on elevated scaffolds and in confined spaces during planned outages and maintenance windows. Expect extended hours and overtime during shutdowns. Safety, accurate weld documentation, and meeting ASME/code standards are required every day.

What You'll Do

  • Perform GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) welding on boiler tubes, headers, and related pressure components
  • Install, repair, cut out and replace thin-wall boiler tubing in utility and power generation equipment
  • Read and follow blueprints, isometrics, weld symbols, and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
  • Execute mirror welding and welds in confined or restricted spaces; set up welding machines and tubing fixtures
  • Prepare components for NDE and assist with RT/UT/PT/MT prep and visual inspection; maintain accurate weld logs and heat numbers
  • Follow site safety procedures, LOTO, confined-space entry protocols, and ensure all welds meet ASME/code requirements

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years’ experience as a boiler tube welder in power plant, utility, or industrial outage environments
  • Proven proficiency in GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) on carbon steel, chrome-moly, and stainless thin-wall tubing
  • Ability to perform mirror welds and complete 6G boiler tube weld tests (open root TIG, fill and cap)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, isometrics, and WPS documents
  • Comfort working in confined spaces, at heights, on scaffolding, and during extended outage hours or night shifts
  • Commitment to safety practices, accurate documentation, and meeting ASME Section I/IX and other applicable codes

Qualifications

  • ASME Section IX welding certification (preferred)
  • NCCER Welding Certification (preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Confined Space Entry and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training
  • Ability to pass a 6G boiler tube weld test and employer-required drug screen
  • Valid driver’s license; English – conversational (reading WPS and safety paperwork)
