Bridge Carpenter

About This Role

Work as a Bridge Carpenter in Memphis, TN building and repairing bridge structures. This hands-on role pays up to $33/hr and focuses on concrete formwork, heavy framing, deck installation, and structural repairs. You'll be on crews installing forms, setting rebar and anchors, and finishing bridge components. You must read blueprints, manage small scopes of work, and follow strict safety and compliance standards. Expect outdoor work, occasional travel along routes, overtime when projects demand it, and opportunities to step up into lead or foreman roles for proven performers.

What You'll Do

• • Set, build and strip concrete forms, falsework, and temporary supports for bridge decks and components
• • Lay out and cut framing, install stringers, blocking, and deck panels per plans
• • Read blueprints and layout drawings; take accurate measurements and transfer lines
• • Install rebar chairs, tie rebar, and work with crews during concrete pours
• • Set up and use scaffolding, fall protection systems, rigging and hoisting gear safely
• • Coordinate daily with foremen and crew members to meet schedule and quality targets

What We're Looking For

• • 3+ years experience in bridge, heavy civil, or concrete form carpentry
• • Strong blueprint-reading and layout skills; accurate measuring and leveling
• • Proven ability with concrete formwork, framing, and structural carpentry
• • Comfortable working at heights, on uneven surfaces, and in all weather
• • Reliable transportation to Memphis-area job sites and ability to work overtime as needed

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred)
• • NCCER certification or equivalent heavy-civil carpentry credential preferred
• • Flagger/traffic control and rigging signaling certifications a plus
• • Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred
• • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug screen; English required, Spanish a plus
