Carpenter — Commercial Doors Installer

Atlanta, GA $22-$28/hr

About this role

Join a hands-on team in Atlanta installing commercial doors and hardware on hospital and data center projects. You’ll perform finish carpentry and door installations that demand precision, clean work areas, and strict adherence to safety and security procedures. This is a full-time role based in Atlanta. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with occasional overtime or on-call shifts as project timelines require. You’ll work closely with foremen, locksmiths, electricians, and inspectors to complete code-compliant, high-quality installs on time.

What you'll do

  • Install commercial entrance systems, interior and exterior doors, frames, thresholds, and weatherproofing per plans and specs
  • Fit and install door hardware, closers, locks, access-control devices, and coordinate with electrical/trade work
  • Measure, adjust, shim, and plumb frames and doors to ensure smooth operation and airtight fit where required
  • Perform inspections, test operation, document punch lists, and correct deficiencies to meet project and code requirements
  • Follow site safety, infection-control, and security protocols specific to hospitals and data centers; maintain clean work areas
  • Maintain and care for hand and power tools, report damaged equipment, and track inventory for installations

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience installing commercial doors and hardware on commercial construction projects, preferably including hospitals and data centers
  • Strong knowledge of commercial door types, hardware functions, and installation techniques
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and door schedules; take accurate field measurements
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal codes affecting egress, fire-rated assemblies, and life-safety components
  • Able to pass site-required background checks and drug screens and follow strict site security and infection-control rules

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Atlanta-area job sites
  • OSHA 10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain site safety training
  • Experience working under hospital infection-control and data center security procedures
  • Ability to lift heavy materials (50+ lbs), work from ladders/scaffolds, and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Able to pass background check and drug screen; English proficiency required, additional languages a plus
