Carpenter
About This Role
Join a commercial construction crew in Beaumont, TX as a Carpenter working on vertical projects like retail, medical, and parking structures. You’ll build structural frameworks, install doors, windows and cabinets, perform finish work, and make repairs while keeping quality and safety front and center. This is a hands-on role — read and follow blueprints, measure and cut materials accurately, work on scaffolds and ladders, and coordinate with the team to keep projects on schedule. Pay is up to $29/hr and the position includes per diem for travel assignments.
What You'll Do
- • Measure, cut and assemble wood and other materials to build walls, floors and roof frameworks per blueprints and specs
- • Install doors, windows, cabinets, trim, molding and other finish components with attention to fit and appearance
- • Perform repairs and maintenance on existing structures; replace damaged components and touch up finishes
- • Read and interpret blueprints, layout lines on site, and verify dimensions before cutting or installing
- • Follow all safety protocols, maintain tools and equipment, and keep the jobsite clean and organized
- • Work with the construction team to meet schedules, report progress, and assist other trades as needed
What We're Looking For
- • Previous commercial carpentry experience on vertical construction projects (framing, finish work, or similar)
- • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and project specs
- • Strong finish and installation skills (doors, windows, cabinetry, trim) and knowledge of building codes
- • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/scaffolds, work above ground and perform repetitive bending/kneeling
- • Reliable transportation, flexible schedule for project needs, and strong communication/teamwork skills
Qualifications
- • English required (verbal and basic written communication)
- • OSHA 10 (preferred) — OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training a plus
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- • High school diploma or GED preferred; carpentry apprenticeship or NCCER credentials a plus
