About This Role

Doors, frames & hardware carpenter needed for full-time commercial work in the Nashville, TN area. You’ll install commercial doors, frames and hardware, perform basic welding and frame prep, handle prefinished doors, and travel between job sites while maintaining clean, professional workmanship. This role requires hands-on experience with commercial doors, the ability to read plans and templates, and the discipline to create daily Pre-Task Plans and manage workflow between the shop and multiple sites. Full-time (40 hrs/week) with benefits and steady work for motivated tradespeople.

What You'll Do

  • Install basic to intermediate commercial doors, frames and hardware (locks, hinges, closers, thresholds) to plans and manufacturer specs
  • Read and interpret diagrams, shop drawings, templates and manufacturer literature to layout openings
  • Use hand tools, battery-powered drills and power tools; perform basic welding and prep on door frames and touch-up work
  • Handle and hang prefinished doors, patch dents/dings with Bondo, protect finishes and prevent damage during installation
  • Create daily Pre-Task Plans, prioritize tasks, and move materials between shop and multiple job sites; maintain site clean-up and organized workflow

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years commercial door/frame/hardware installation experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, templates and manufacturer details
  • Proven skill with hand tools, battery drills and basic welding/frame prep
  • Comfortable handling prefinished doors and performing finish touch-ups (Bondo) without damaging surfaces
  • Reliable transportation around Nashville and willingness to visit multiple job sites in a day
  • Physically able to lift, carry and position doors and frames; work on ladders/scaffolding and follow safety procedures

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for site travel
  • Basic welding experience (MIG/TIG familiarity preferred) or willingness to train
  • OSHA 10-hour construction card preferred or willing to obtain
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Conversational English for reading plans and communicating on-site
