Concrete Carpenter

About This Role

Experienced concrete carpenters needed in Columbus, OH. You’ll build, set and strip formwork for commercial and government pours, read plans, and work with a crew to keep pours accurate and on schedule. This is a per diem position paying up to $26/hr with opportunities for overtime and travel assignments. We want hands-on form carpenters who know formwork layout, measuring, cutting and assembly. Ability to follow drawings and specifications, work safely on site, and communicate in English and Spanish is required. Workers willing to relocate or travel for assignments are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• • Build, set up and secure concrete forms and formwork systems for slabs, walls and footings
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and as-built notes to lay out formwork
• • Measure, cut and assemble form materials; install tie systems, bracing and supports
• • Coordinate with the crew during placement and finishing to ensure forms hold and pour sequencing is followed
• • Strip forms, perform basic form repairs, and ensure work meets quality and dimensional tolerances
• • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow jobsite safety rules and instructions

What We're Looking For

• • 2+ years hands-on experience with concrete formwork carpentry on commercial or civil projects
• • Proven ability to read construction drawings, site layout and as-built drawings
• • Skilled measuring, cutting, framing and general carpentry for form systems
• • Experience with concrete placement/pouring procedures and working around finishing crews
• • Able to work outdoors, lift heavy materials, and follow safety procedures on busy sites
• • Comfortable working on government and commercial job sites; willing to travel or relocate for assignments

Qualifications

• • Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred)
• • OSHA 10-hour construction card or equivalent preferred
• • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
• • Minimum 2 years formwork/concrete carpentry experience
