Concrete Carpenter (Formwork)

About This Role

Looking for experienced concrete carpenters in the Charlotte, NC area to build and assemble concrete forms for commercial and government projects. You’ll be part of a hands-on team responsible for accurate, sturdy formwork that meets specs and schedule. Must be able to read drawings, measure and cut materials accurately, and work safely on site with other trades. Pay up to $26/hr depending on experience — steady, local work for skilled form carpenters.

What You'll Do

• • Build, set up and brace modular and custom concrete forms for walls, footings, slabs, and ramps
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and as-built drawings to lay out formwork
• • Measure, mark, cut and assemble formwork components using saws, nailers, hammers and other hand/power tools
• • Coordinate with crew and concrete crews during placement to ensure forms hold, are braced correctly, and meet tolerances
• • Inspect formwork for accuracy and quality; strip and clean forms after concrete cures
• • Work safely on site, follow project specs, and collaborate with foremen and other trades to keep jobs on schedule

What We're Looking For

• • Concrete formwork carpentry experience (commercial/government projects preferred) — 2+ years preferred
• • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings and as-built drawings
• • Skilled in site layout, measuring, marking, cutting and general framing carpentry
• • Experience with concrete placement/pouring practices, bracing, and proper stripping techniques
• • Comfortable working on civil and commercial construction sites and following project specifications and quality standards

Qualifications

• • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• • OSHA-10 (preferred) or equivalent safety training
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
• • Able to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in variable weather, and stand for long periods
• • Willing to complete background check and drug screen if required
