About This Role

Experienced concrete carpenters needed in the Kansas City, MO area to build, set and assemble formwork for commercial and government projects. You’ll work on mid-rise and high-rise structures as part of a hands-on crew, following drawings and specifications to deliver accurate, durable concrete forms. This is a per diem assignment open to workers willing to relocate. We need dependable carpenters who read drawings, lay out sites, measure and cut materials, and work safely around concrete pours and other trades. Steady work on structural formwork — come ready to build quality forms and work with a crew to meet schedules.

What You'll Do

  • Build, set up and secure wood and metal concrete forms for footings, walls, columns and slabs
  • Read and follow construction drawings, specifications and as-built notes for form layout
  • Measure, cut, fit and fasten form components; install ties, bracing and embedments
  • Collaborate with foremen, concrete crews and other trades to coordinate pours and sequencing
  • Verify form accuracy and dimensions; check elevations, slopes and alignment before pours
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow site safety and quality procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in concrete formwork carpentry (commercial/government projects preferred)
  • Able to read and interpret construction drawings, site layout and as-built drawings
  • Strong measuring, cutting and general framing carpentry skills
  • Experience with concrete placement/pouring processes and coordinating with pour crews
  • Able to work at heights, lift heavy materials and perform physical labor in all weather
  • Willingness to travel or relocate for per diem assignments

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 (required) — OSHA 30 preferred
  • NCCER or concrete/formwork certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check for government sites
  • Competent in reading English construction drawings (Spanish speakers valued)
