Carpenter — Commercial Concrete Formwork

About this role

Join a commercial construction crew in McMinnville, TN working on concrete formwork and rough framing for large projects. This role focuses on building vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, scaffolding, and temporary structures. Expect outdoor work, elevated tasks, and hands-on problem solving. You must bring your own basic hand tools and follow strict site safety rules in a drug-free environment. This is a per diem position with project-based schedules; reliable attendance, the ability to work in all weather, and comfort working at heights are essential.

What you'll do

• • Build vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, and temporary wood structures from sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions
• • Erect and install scaffolds, tunnel/bridge/sewer supports, billboard frames, and temporary shelters as required on site
• • Measure, cut, fit, and fasten materials; set anchor bolts and form ties; verify layout and dimensions using site drawings
• • Work safely at elevated heights and in outdoor conditions; follow site safety plans and use fall protection and PPE
• • Coordinate with crew leads to prepare formwork for concrete placement and assist during pours as directed
• • Maintain hand tools and basic material inventory; keep work areas tidy and compliant with safety rules

What we're looking for

• • Minimum 3 years commercial carpentry experience preferred, with hands-on work on concrete and gang forms
• • Able to read and interpret drawings, perform site layout, and make accurate measurements and cuts
• • OSHA-10 certification required and strict adherence to site safety and a drug-free workplace
• • Must provide own basic hand tools (hammer, speed square, tape measure, chalk box, pliers, tool pouch, etc.)
• • Able to work at elevated heights, frequently lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical work outdoors in all weather
• • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred to support crew communication on site

Qualifications

• • OSHA-10 certification
• • 3+ years commercial construction carpentry preferred (concrete/formwork experience)
• • Ability to read blueprints and perform site layout
• • Must provide own basic carpenter hand tools
• • English and Spanish language skills preferred
