Carpenter - Doors, Frames & Hardware Installer

About This Role

Experienced commercial doors, frames, and hardware installers needed in Colorado Springs, CO. This is hands-on carpentry work on multiple commercial job sites each day—installing metal and wood frames, hanging prefinished doors, setting locks and hinges, and prepping frames with basic welding. You’ll follow plans and manufacturer literature and work with the shop to keep production moving. We’re looking for motivated, detail-minded carpenters who take pride in quality work, can read plans and templates, and who travel between job sites with reliable transportation. This is a full-time role (~40 hrs/week) with steady commercial work and benefits.

What You'll Do

  • Install commercial doors, frames, and hardware per plans, templates, and manufacturer literature
  • Use hand and battery tools plus basic welding to prep and fit metal door frames
  • Handle and hang prefinished doors carefully; patch dents/dings using Bondo or similar materials
  • Set and adjust locks, hinges, closers, and intermediate-level hardware to manufacturer tolerances
  • Create daily pre-task plans and follow shop sequencing/workflow to meet production schedules
  • Travel to multiple job sites per day; load/unload materials and maintain clean, safe job areas

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years commercial door/frames/hardware installation experience (preferred 3–5 years)
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, templates, plans, and manufacturer instructions
  • Skilled with hand tools, battery-powered drills, measuring and cutting materials
  • Basic welding and frame-prep experience required
  • Reliable transportation for travel to multiple job sites in the Colorado Springs area
  • Physically able to lift, carry, and position doors and frames safely; attention to finish and detail

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for daily site travel
  • 3–5 years commercial door installation experience preferred
  • Basic welding competency or certification preferred
  • Ability to read plans and manufacturer literature
  • OSHA 10 (or similar) recommended
