Commercial Carpenter Installer
About This Role
We’re hiring experienced commercial carpenter installers in Georgia to install metal doors, metal frames and door hardware on commercial projects. You’ll work from drawings and templates, use hand and battery-powered drills, adjust doors and handle prefinished units to deliver a high-quality fit and finish. This is hands-on field work on commercial jobsites. Expect to work with other trades, follow a door-hanging sequence per project, create daily pre-task plans and maintain production standards. Pay is $25–$30/hr depending on experience.
What You'll Do
- • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, templates and manufacturer literature for door openings
- • Measure, install and align metal doors and metal frames to manufacturer and project specifications
- • Install basic to intermediate-level door hardware (locks, closers, pivots, hinges) and set fasteners without damaging finishes
- • Use hand tools and battery-powered drills safely and proficiently; protect prefinished surfaces
- • Adjust hung doors for proper swing, clearance and hardware function; perform door repairs and minor patching (Bondo) as needed
- • Prepare daily Pre-Task Plans and coordinate door hanging sequence with other trades on site
What We're Looking For
- • 5–6 years commercial experience installing metal doors, metal frames and door hardware
- • Ability to read and interpret drawings, templates and plan details
- • Proficient with hand tools and battery-powered drills; ability to control torque to avoid finish damage
- • Skilled in adjusting doors, setting hardware and handling prefinished doors without marring surfaces
- • Able to work on commercial jobsites, follow direction, and collaborate with other trade crews
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 certification required
- • CPR and First Aid certification required
- • 5–6 years relevant commercial door/frame/hardware experience
- • Bilingual: Spanish and English required
