Carpenter (Drywall & Scaffolding)

About This Role

Join a hands-on crew as a Carpenter specializing in drywall installation and scaffolding work within 25 miles of Charlotte, NC. You’ll spend your day hanging, taping, finishing drywall and erecting/dismantling scaffolding systems on commercial and residential jobs. Pay up to $60/hr based on experience. We want reliable tradespeople who know how to work safely at height, read simple plans, and finish quality drywall. If you take pride in clean work, follow safety rules, and can work with a small crew to hit schedules, this is a steady, well-paid role for skilled carpenters and drywallers.

What You'll Do

  • Measure, cut, hang, tape, mud and finish drywall to specified levels of finish
  • Erect, modify and dismantle scaffolding safely; work from scaffolds and elevated platforms
  • Read basic plans and layout lines; ensure accurate fits around openings and penetrations
  • Maintain tools and equipment, perform daily safety checks on scaffolding and PPE
  • Work with crew leads to sequence drywall and finish work for efficient project flow
  • Keep work areas clean and secure materials; report defects or safety hazards immediately

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2–4 years hands-on drywall/carpentry experience (commercial and/or residential)
  • Proven experience erecting, altering and dismantling scaffolding; comfortable working at heights
  • Skilled with hand and power tools used for framing, drywall hanging and finishing
  • Able to read basic plans, take measurements and layout work accurately
  • Physically fit for lifting, climbing and repetitive tasks; dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Comfortable following site safety rules; willing to wear PPE and complete required safety checks

Qualifications

  • State Licensed Plumber (as listed) — include license if applicable
  • Certified Alarm Designer (CFAD) Level III Fire (as listed) — include certificate if applicable
  • Scaffold Competent Person or scaffolding safety certification (preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel within the 25-mile area
  • Able to pass a basic drug screen and background check
