Carpenter — Millwork & Casework
About This Role
Join a skilled trades crew in Nashville as a Carpenter specializing in high-level millwork, casework and ornamental metalwork. You’ll install architectural woodwork, plastic laminate, metal casework, fume hoods, doors, frames, hardware and other specialties on commercial jobsites. This role requires someone who reads blueprints, preplans tools and materials, brings their own basic toolset, works with minimal supervision, and follows a strict jobsite safety program. Pay is up to $30/hr depending on experience; steady commercial work and overtime are often available.
What You'll Do
- • Install architectural woodwork, plastic laminate, metal casework, fume hoods, doors, frames, hardware and miscellaneous specialties on commercial projects
- • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and installation instructions to lay out work and confirm fit
- • Preplan tools, materials and installation methods to complete work safely and efficiently
- • Set, secure and finish casework, countertops, cabinets, trim, panels and related components; ensure proper fit and alignment
- • Follow site safety rules, report hazards or incidents immediately, use Stop Work Authority when needed and keep work area clean
- • Work independently or with small crews, communicate progress to supervisors and coordinate with other trades
What We're Looking For
- • 3–5 years’ experience as a finished carpenter with millwork/casework experience
- • Proven ability to read and work from blueprints and shop drawings
- • Must supply basic personal tools required for the trade
- • Able to work with minimal supervision and follow installation specifications
- • Physically able to climb ladders/scaffolds, stoop/kneel/crouch and lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- • Union member where applicable
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- • 3–5 years finished carpentry focused on millwork/casework
- • Ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English
- • Must supply personal tools and demonstrate safe tool use
- • Physically able to perform required tasks (ladders, scaffolds, lifting up to 50 lbs)
