Carpenter Foreman

About This Role

Lead onsite carpentry work in Raleigh, NC. You’ll perform journeyman-level rough and finish carpentry, review plans, set production goals, and keep projects on schedule. This is a hands-on foreman role: you’ll be in the field working alongside your crew while managing assignments and quality. You’ll also be responsible for safety and training — developing JHAs, enforcing OSHA practices, entering crew time, monitoring inventories, and mentoring or disciplining crew members as needed. The role is full-time (40 hours/week) and calls for a practical leader who can solve problems on the spot and deliver work to high standards.

What You'll Do

  • Perform journeyman-level rough and finish carpentry on new and remodel projects
  • Read and review project plans/blueprints; perform layout and field measurements
  • Estimate materials, track production rates and report progress
  • Develop daily/weekly work schedules, assign crew tasks and enter crew time in timekeeping system
  • Create and manage JHAs; enforce safety practices and provide on-the-job training
  • Maintain jobsite records, monitor inventories, request supplies and keep work areas orderly

What We're Looking For

  • Current Journeyman Carpenter license/certificate where required
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a foreman or lead carpenter on commercial or residential projects
  • Strong knowledge of rough & finish carpentry, tools, materials, and building techniques
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs., climb and work from ladders and lifts; stamina for extended standing, bending, kneeling
  • Basic computer skills and experience with timekeeping or production tracking systems
  • Commitment to following OSHA and site-specific safety procedures

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Carpenter certificate/license (required if local jurisdiction mandates)
  • OSHA-10 (minimum) or OSHA-30 preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and basic jobsite computer/data entry
