Carpenter — Concrete Worker
About This Role
Join a hands-on crew in Vicksburg, MS as a skilled Carpenter focused on concrete formwork and placement. You’ll plan and lay out forms, install rebar, embeds and anchor bolts, pour and finish concrete, and verify work meets plans and specs. Pay is up to $31/hr depending on experience. This is outdoor, physical work on commercial/industrial projects. Expect varying shifts, occasional overtime, and work at heights. If you read blueprints, run layout and take pride in straight, long-lasting concrete work, this is a solid opportunity.
What You'll Do
- • Read and interpret prints, drawings and specifications; lay out work from plans.
- • Measure, cut, assemble and install built-in-place or prefabricated wood forms and bracing.
- • Place and tie rebar, install embeds and anchor bolts to spec; insert spreaders/tie-rods and brace forms.
- • Pour, screed and finish concrete surfaces to required tolerances and finish schedules.
- • Inspect completed work for compliance with plans; identify and correct deficiencies.
- • Operate hand and power tools, layout instruments, and maintain site safety and housekeeping.
What We're Looking For
- • 2+ years’ experience in formwork, rebar work and concrete finishing (commercial/industrial preferred).
- • Able to read and interpret blueprints, layout drawings and basic civil details.
- • Proficient with hand and power tools, layout tools, and concrete placement techniques.
- • Physically capable of standing, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working outdoors and at heights.
- • Available for variable hours, overtime, weekends as needed; must have own basic tools.
- • Ability to pass pre-access drug/alcohol screen and fit-for-duty medical clearance.
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- • OSHA 10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsite
- • Ability to communicate basic instructions in English
- • Current certifications as required by project (e.g., rigging, confined space) are a plus
