Concrete Carpenter (Per Diem) - Charlotte, NC

About This Role

Seeking experienced concrete carpenters in the Charlotte, NC area to build, set and strip concrete forms for commercial and government projects. You’ll work on-site with a crew to lay out formwork, interpret drawings, and ensure forms are accurate and secure for pours. This is a per diem position paying up to $25/hr. We want hands-on tradespeople who know formwork, concrete placement basics, and can work safely and efficiently as part of a team. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• • Build, set, brace and strip concrete forms for slabs, walls, footings and other structures
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, civil layouts and formwork plans
• • Measure, cut and assemble timber, plywood, metal forms and form accessories
• • Install reinforcing, verify layout and ensure form alignment and elevation accuracy
• • Coordinate with crew during concrete placement, assist with finishing and curing protection
• • Follow site safety rules, use scaffolding and rigging properly, and report quality issues

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience in concrete formwork carpentry and general concrete work
• • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and civil plans
• • Skilled with concrete reinforcing, placement support, bracing and form ties
• • Experience with scaffolding (frame & brace, system) and basic rigging
• • Capable of working full days on-site, lifting, climbing and using hand/power tools
• • Bilingual English and Spanish for effective crew communication

Qualifications

• • 3+ years hands-on concrete formwork experience preferred
• • Fluent in English and Spanish (both required)
• • OSHA 10-hour construction safety card preferred
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
• • Able to pass drug screen and background check if required
• • Experience on government or public works projects is a plus
