Concrete Carpenter — Formwork

About this role

Concrete carpenters needed in Charleston, SC to build, set, and strip concrete forms for government and commercial projects. This is a per diem position paying $15–$45/hr depending on experience and skill. You’ll work with a crew on site, following drawings and specs to produce accurate, high-quality formwork. You must be able to read construction drawings, lay out formwork, measure and cut lumber and plywood, and work safely around concrete pours. Spanish language ability is required. Expect project-based assignments, travel between sites, and steady work for qualified candidates.

What you'll do

• • Build, set up, brace, and strip concrete forms per drawings and specs
• • Interpret construction and as-built drawings to lay out formwork and anchor locations
• • Measure, cut, fasten and align formwork materials (lumber, plywood, hardware)
• • Assist with concrete placement, vibration support, and finishing coordination
• • Check dimensions and tolerances; ensure formwork accuracy and structural integrity
• • Work closely with crew members and foremen to meet schedule and safety requirements

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience with concrete formwork carpentry and general framing carpentry
• • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and as-built plans
• • Skilled in site layout, measuring, cutting, and fitting formwork components
• • Experience on commercial or government construction projects preferred
• • Physically fit for heavy lifting, climbing, and working in varied weather conditions

Qualifications

• • Fluent Spanish (required)
• • Minimum 3+ years concrete formwork or related carpentry experience preferred
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• • OSHA 10 (preferred) or similar safety training
