Concrete Carpenter — Formwork

About this role

Seeking experienced concrete carpenters in Charleston, SC for per diem assignments assembling and setting formwork on commercial and government projects. You’ll be part of a crew building forms, reading plans, and supporting concrete placements from layout through stripping. This is a hands-on, project-based position. Candidates must read and interpret drawings, perform accurate site layout and cuts, and work well with crew members and concrete crews on site. Spanish language skill required. Travel and per diem provided for eligible assignments.

What you'll do

• • Build, set and secure concrete forms for slabs, walls, and footings per project drawings
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and as-built notes for accurate form layout
• • Perform site layout, measuring, cutting, and general framing carpentry to ensure correct form dimensions and alignment
• • Work with concrete crews during placement and finishing to protect formwork and ensure safe pours
• • Maintain formwork, tools and hardware; clean and stage materials for efficient workflow

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience in concrete formwork carpentry on commercial and/or government projects
• • Able to read and interpret construction drawings, as-built drawings, and site layout plans
• • Skilled in measuring, cutting, general framing carpentry and concrete placement support
• • Comfortable working outdoors, lifting materials, and working at heights when required
• • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a crew on project-based schedules

Qualifications

• • Fluent Spanish (required)
• • Minimum several years' hands-on formwork experience on commercial/government jobs
• • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
• • Site safety training such as OSHA 10 (preferred) and foreman-level formwork experience a plus
