Concrete Carpenter — Formwork
About This Role
Seeking experienced concrete carpenters in the San Antonio, TX area for per diem construction work. You’ll build, assemble, and strip concrete forms on commercial and government projects. This is hands-on formwork work — steady short-term assignments, travel between sites, and a focus on quality and safety. Pay up to $25/hr plus per diem. Candidates must read and interpret construction drawings, install reinforcing and embedments, and work as part of a crew. Bilingual (English/Spanish) crew members are required for these positions.
What You'll Do
- • Build, set, brace, and strip concrete forms to specifications
- • Read and interpret construction and civil drawings, layout formwork and embedment locations
- • Install concrete reinforcing, embedments, and blocking as required
- • Ensure formwork accuracy and quality — measure, check lines/grades, and correct issues on site
- • Coordinate with crew members and foremen to schedule pours, placement, and finishing
- • Maintain tools, rigging, scaffolds, and follow site safety procedures and inspections
What We're Looking For
- • Proven experience with concrete formwork carpentry on commercial or government jobs
- • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- • Hands-on experience with concrete placement, finishing, curing, and repair
- • Knowledge of concrete reinforcing, rigging, scaffolding (frame & brace and system), and site layout
- • Capable of working in extreme temperature conditions and following T&M and schedule requirements
- • Strong teamwork, reliable attendance, and commitment to jobsite safety and quality
Qualifications
- • Fluent in English and Spanish
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- • OSHA 10 (required) or OSHA 30 (preferred)
- • Experience on government/secured sites and ability to pass background checks
- • Rigging/hoisting or scaffold certification preferred
- • ACI or concrete-related certifications a plus
