Concrete Carpenter (Formwork)

About this role

Experienced concrete carpenters needed in Jacksonville, FL to build, set and strip concrete forms on commercial and government construction projects. This is a per diem role with opportunities for workers willing to relocate; work is project-based and requires reliable, skilled hands on site. You’ll work directly with a crew to lay out forms, read and follow construction drawings and specifications, and ensure formwork is accurate and ready for concrete placement. Teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to follow site safety rules are essential.

What you'll do

• • Build, assemble, brace and strip concrete forms per drawings and project specs
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, site layouts and as-built notes
• • Measure, mark and cut lumber, plywood and metal form components to size
• • Install anchors, walers, ties and bracing to maintain form integrity during pours
• • Coordinate with crew during concrete placement and ensure formwork quality
• • Maintain tools, equipment and tidy work area; follow site safety practices

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience with concrete formwork carpentry on commercial or civil projects
• • Skilled in reading and interpreting construction drawings and site layouts
• • Accurate measuring, cutting and general framing carpentry skills
• • Familiarity with concrete placement/pouring procedures and formwork safety
• • Comfort working on active construction sites and collaborating with crew members

Qualifications

• • Fluent in English and Spanish
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites
• • Ability to lift heavy materials, climb and work on scaffolds and forms
• • Willingness to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• • OSHA 10 or site safety training preferred
