Concrete Carpenter - Formwork

About This Role

Looking for experienced concrete carpenters in Jacksonville, FL to build and assemble concrete forms on commercial and government projects. This is a hands-on role: you’ll set forms, read plans, measure and cut materials, and work with the crew to ensure accurate, safe pours. Position is per diem and open to candidates willing to relocate. We need reliable tradespeople with strong formwork and general carpentry skills who can follow drawings, keep work areas organized, and maintain quality under schedule pressure. Travel assignments and government projects are common — safety and teamwork are required.

What You'll Do

• • Build, set up and align concrete forms for slabs, walls, footings and other cast-in-place elements
• • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and as-built information to lay out formwork
• • Measure, mark and cut lumber, plywood and form components; assemble and secure forms and bracing
• • Verify elevations, layout points and site dimensions; coordinate form locations with site layout and grade stakes
• • Work with crew and foreperson to coordinate concrete placement, ensure proper sequencing, and strip forms after cure
• • Maintain tools and equipment, perform basic maintenance, and follow site safety procedures (shoring, bracing, PPE)

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience in concrete formwork carpentry on commercial or government projects
• • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, as-built drawings and specifications
• • Skilled at site layout, measuring, cutting and general framing carpentry
• • Experience with concrete placement/pouring procedures and form stripping
• • Comfort working on construction sites, following safety rules and coordinating with other trades
• • Must be able to work extended hours and travel to job sites as required

Qualifications

• • Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel for assignments
• • OSHA 10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain on hire
• • Minimum relevant formwork/carpentry experience (preferred 2+ years)
• • Able to pass drug test and background check; willingness to relocate for long-term assignments if needed
