Carpenter — Houston, TX
About This Role
Seeking experienced carpenters in Houston to work on commercial and residential construction projects. You’ll be hands-on with framing, concrete formwork, slab work, tilt walls, elevated work and finish carpentry — reading blueprints and setting layout every day. Pay: $24–36/hr DOE with overtime available. We need reliable carpenters who know rough and finish carpentry, cabinet and countertop installation, stair and trim work, and can run small crews or work independently on site.
What You'll Do
- • Read and interpret blueprints and site plans; set layout for walls, slabs and tilt panels.
- • Build and install wood and metal framing: floor, wall, roof and stair framing; erect partitions and elevated work platforms.
- • Install concrete formwork, place reinforcing, set forms for slabs and tilt walls, and coordinate with concrete crews.
- • Finish carpentry: cabinet and countertop installation, door/hardware, trim, paneling, window and floor installation, staircase construction.
- • Assemble and install scaffolding systems, ensure safe elevated work practices, and perform crane signaling when required.
- • Inspect work for quality, manage time & material on job, train and oversee helpers, and maintain clean, organized work areas.
What We're Looking For
- • 3+ years hands-on carpentry with framing, finish carpentry and blueprint reading.
- • Proven experience with concrete formwork, slab work and tilt-wall layout and forms.
- • Skilled in cabinet, countertop, door/hardware, window and trim installation.
- • Able to install scaffolding, perform elevated work and certified/or experienced crane signaling.
- • Experience with metal and wood framing, stair framing, floor sanding/finishing and general concrete work.
- • Reliable transportation, ability to follow site safety rules, lift heavy materials and work varied schedules including overtime.
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 (or OSHA 30 preferred) certification
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- • Crane signaling certification or demonstrated signaling experience
- • NCCER or carpenter journeyman card a plus
- • CPR/First Aid certification helpful
- • Ability to pass background and drug screening; Spanish language skills a plus
