Journeyman Carpenter
About This Role
Journeyman Carpenter needed in the Charlotte, NC area to perform basic installation of materials on active construction sites. You’ll work on commercial and residential projects handling rough carpentry, drywall, concrete and roofing tasks under direction of lead carpenters and foremen. This is hands-on, on-site work for someone who knows construction fundamentals and works well on a crew. We offer competitive pay, benefits and a retirement program. What You'll Do
- • Install basic construction materials on-site: framing, trim, drywall, and roofing components
- • Measure, cut and fit lumber and building materials accurately to plans and instructions
- • Assist with concrete-related tasks and general site carpentry work
- • Follow layout and specifications from foremen and read basic plans/markings
- • Maintain tools and equipment, keep work areas clean, and follow site safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- • Proven rough and general carpentry skills: measuring, cutting, fitting and installation
- • Working knowledge of construction methods, materials and basic site procedures
- • Experience in commercial and/or residential construction settings
- • Ability to work well on a crew and follow supervisor directions
- • Comfort working around concrete, drywall and roofing tasks on busy job sites
Qualifications
- • Journeyman-level carpentry experience or equivalent on-site experience
- • English (required) for clear crew communication
- • Proven experience with drywall, concrete and roofing installations
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Charlotte-area job sites (preferred)
