Carpenter Foreman — Doors, Frames & Hardware (Mableton, GA)
About This Role
Lead DFH (door, frame, hardware) installations on commercial projects in Mableton, GA. This foreman-level carpenter role combines hands-on installation with planning, quality control, and crew supervision. You’ll read drawings and hardware schedules, set pre-task plans and 2-week look-aheads, and ensure installs meet industry standards. You’ll mentor craft team members, coordinate with other trades, track productivity, and assist the DFH Superintendent. This job requires technical installation experience (hollow metal/wood doors, welded/knock-down frames, electrified hardware), good communication, and familiarity with construction software like Bluebeam and BIM 360.
What You'll Do
- • Read and interpret plans, door & hardware schedules, and project timelines; verify install locations and sequences.
- • Create and manage pre-task plans, 2-week look-aheads, and daily productivity tracking for the crew.
- • Install, adjust and troubleshoot hollow metal and wood doors, welded and knock-down frames, and hardware (including electrified hardware).
- • Provide on-site direction, delegate daily tasks, train and mentor craft team members, and enforce quality and best practices.
- • Coordinate with other trades, suppliers and manufacturer tech services to resolve field issues and keep the schedule on track.
- • Handle basic crew administration: sign-in/sign-out oversight, time entry, and use construction software (Bluebeam, BIM 360, PlanGrid, Excel, Outlook, Box).
What We're Looking For
- • Proven commercial DFH installation experience: hollow metal & wood doors, welded/knock-down frames, closers, panic devices, locks, electrified hardware.
- • Ability to read and interpret drawings, door & hardware schedules, and measurement/layout tasks.
- • Supervisory experience directing crews, training team members, and managing productivity to meet schedule goals.
- • Familiarity with construction software: Bluebeam, BIM 360, PlanGrid, Excel, Outlook, Box (or similar).
- • Strong troubleshooting skills with hardware (experience with Von Duprin, LCN, Hager is a plus) and ability to perform field modifications.
- • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to work on-site in commercial construction environments.
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (required)
- • Competent Person training (preferred)
- • DHI COR101 (recommended)
- • Forklift and Lull lift training/certification (preferred)
- • CPR and First Aid certification
- • Able to communicate in English and Spanish
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
