Lead Carpenter

About This Role

Seeking a hands-on Lead Carpenter to manage and perform structural carpentry work on residential and light commercial projects in Charlotte, NC. You’ll run small crews, read and verify blueprints, set layouts, frame structures, and make sure work meets specs and code. This is a field role for someone who moves fast, knows framing and bench work, and takes pride in durable, accurate craftsmanship. Expect mornings on-site directing crews, afternoons coordinating materials and inspections, and a steady workload with overtime available.

What You'll Do

• • Lead and supervise carpentry crew on site: assign tasks, monitor progress, enforce safety
• • Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and layout drawings; verify measurements
• • Perform structural framing, sheathing, trimming, and bench carpentry as required
• • Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately using hand and power tools
• • Inspect completed work for quality and code compliance; make corrections as needed
• • Coordinate material orders, track inventory, and communicate with project supervisors

What We're Looking For

• • 5+ years hands-on carpentry with strong experience in structural/framing work
• • Skilled in bench carpentry, rough carpentry, measuring and cutting, and general carpentry
• • Proven ability to read blueprints and set accurate layouts
• • Experience supervising or leading small crews and managing jobsite workflow
• • Reliable, able to work full days on outdoor job sites and lift 50+ lbs

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
• • OSHA 10 (preferred) or willingness to obtain OSHA 10/30
• • Current First Aid/CPR certification or willing to certify
• • Ability to pass background and drug screening
• • Strong references from past supervisors on framing/structural projects
