Mid-Level Commercial Carpenter

About This Role

Mid-level commercial carpenter needed in Phoenix, AZ. Pay $24–$34/hr based on experience. You’ll work on high-traffic commercial jobs — schools, hospitals, office towers, and retail centers — handling structural framing, concrete formwork, and finish carpentry with minimal supervision. This role requires someone who reads complex blueprints, enforces code-compliant work, follows strict OSHA standards, and can lead small crews or mentor apprentices. Heavy lifting, precise layout, and reliable, steady attendance are standard on our large-scale projects.

What You'll Do

• • Install metal stud framing, floor joists, and large-scale structural frameworks per plans and specs
• • Build and strip concrete formwork for columns, stairs, and large footers; coordinate with trades for pours
• • Install commercial doors, hardware, cabinetry, trim, and acoustical ceiling systems to commercial quality standards
• • Read and interpret complex blueprints and as-built drawings; perform site layout and precise measuring/cutting
• • Enforce OSHA safety standards on site, maintain safe work zones, set up scaffolding systems, and keep jobsite clean
• • Lead small crews or mentor apprentices; inspect work for quality and ensure code compliance on every task

What We're Looking For

• • 3–7 years commercial carpentry experience on large-scale projects (schools, healthcare, office, retail)
• • Proven ability to read complex blueprints, perform site layout, and ensure work meets commercial building codes
• • Hands-on skills: metal framing, wood/floor/roof framing, concrete formwork and placement, finish carpentry, acoustical ceilings, and hardware installation
• • Work independently with minimal supervision and lead/mentor small crews when needed
• • Physically fit for heavy lifting, climbing scaffolding, and long days on active commercial sites; reliable transportation and punctuality

Qualifications

• • 3–7 years commercial carpentry experience
• • OSHA 30 (required) and OSHA 10 (preferred)
• • CPR certification (required)
• • Bilingual: English and Spanish (required)
