Full Time
Carpenter (Millwork & Casework)
About This Role
Join a DC-area team as a skilled carpenter focused on high-level millwork: architectural woodwork, casework, and ornamental metalwork. You’ll install AWW, plastic laminate and metal casework, fume hoods, DFH, and other specialty items on commercial job sites. This is hands-on work — you’ll preplan installations, bring and maintain your personal tools, read blueprints, and work with minimal supervision. Safety is mandatory: follow the site safety program, report hazards or incidents, and be able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs. Pay range: $20–$50/hr depending on experience.
What You'll Do

- • Preplan tools, materials, sequencing, and installation methods for efficient, safe installations
- • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and installation instructions to layout and fit components
- • Measure, cut, fit, anchor, and finish casework, trim, and related millwork to specification
- • Maintain clean, organized work areas; protect finished surfaces and follow site protection plans
- • Follow the site safety program, use Stop Work Authority when needed, report hazards and incidents immediately
What We're Looking For
- • 3–5 years’ experience as a finished carpenter with hands-on casework and millwork experience
- • Proven experience with plastic laminate (PL), casework installation, and architectural millwork
- • Ability to read and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and layout plans
- • Must supply and maintain personal carpentry hand tools
- • Physically able to climb ladders and scaffolds, stoop/kneel/crouch, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- • Able to work with minimal supervision and coordinate with trade partners on jobsite

- • 3–5 years finished carpentry / millwork experience
- • Union member where applicable
- • Must supply personal tools required for the trade
- • Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and work at heights
