About This Role

Experienced carpenter needed in Dallas to perform high-level millwork, casework, ornamental metalwork and finish carpentry on commercial projects. You’ll install wood and metal casework, fume hoods, wall paneling, doors, frames and hardware with a focus on quality, speed and safety. The job requires hands-on problem solving, blueprint reading, preplanning tools and materials, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong safety habits are required: follow site safety programs, report hazards, and use Stop Work Authority when needed. This is physical work — be prepared to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work on scaffolds.

What You'll Do

  • Install wood and metal casework, plastic laminate, wall paneling, fume hoods and other millwork per plans
  • Measure, cut and fit trim, countertops, cabinets, doors, frames and hardware to blueprint and field conditions
  • Preplan tools, materials and installation steps to complete work in the safest and most efficient manner
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and as-built drawings; perform site layout and field adjustments
  • Follow the site safety program, report hazards and incidents, and exercise Stop Work Authority when necessary
  • Work independently or as part of a crew; coordinate with other trades to meet schedule and quality standards

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years experience as a finished carpenter with commercial millwork or casework experience
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and site layouts
  • Supply and maintain personal hand tools and basic carpentry equipment
  • Physically able to climb ladders and scaffolds, stoop/kneel/crouch, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and follow direction from foremen and superintendents

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3–5 years finish carpentry/millwork experience (commercial preferred)
  • Union membership where applicable
  • OSHA 10 (or equivalent) preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to pass drug screen/background check
