Carpenter — Site Carpentry

About This Role

Join a hands-on construction crew in York, SC as a Carpenter focused on site carpentry tasks. The role centers on building handrails and miscellaneous on-site structures, performing framing work, measuring and cutting materials, and following site layouts and drawings. This is physical, outdoor work on active job sites. Finish carpentry experience is not required — this position is a great fit for someone with general rough carpentry or framing experience who wants to gain more site carpentry skills. You’ll work with a crew, learn on the job, and perform the core framing and layout tasks that keep a project moving.

What You'll Do

• • Build and install handrails, guardrails, and miscellaneous site structures per drawings
• • Perform wood and metal framing tasks on active construction sites
• • Measure, mark, cut and fit materials accurately using hand and power tools
• • Set layout lines, follow site layout plans and basic blueprints
• • Inspect own work and correct defects to meet site standards
• • Maintain tools, equipment and keep the work area clean and safe

What We're Looking For

• • Experience with general rough carpentry and framing (wood and/or metal framing)
• • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and blueprints
• • Competence in site layout, measuring, marking and cutting materials
• • Comfort working outdoors on active construction sites and lifting materials
• • Basic work inspection skills and attention to detail to meet site specs
• • Reliable attendance, ability to work as part of a crew and follow directions

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or GED preferred
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsite
• • OSHA 10-hour card preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders/scaffolding
• • Basic conversational English for safety and crew communication
