Concrete Finisher / Cement Mason - El Paso, TX
About This Role
Experienced cement masons/concrete finishers needed in El Paso, TX to place and finish flatwork on commercial and residential projects. Work includes slabs, sidewalks, curbs, and other flat surfaces. We're looking for hands-on crew members who take pride in smooth, durable finishes and follow proper curing and jointing techniques. You’ll work with small crews on local jobsites, read basic construction plans, and perform concrete placement, finishing, and repair work. If you have solid flatwork experience, reliable attendance, and a safety-first attitude, this is steady work in El Paso with overtime opportunities.
What You'll Do
- • Place, level, screed, float, and trowel concrete for slabs, sidewalks, and flatwork
- • Set and strip forms; perform concrete formwork carpentry and rebar tying as needed
- • Apply finishing textures, saw and install control joints, and ensure proper edge work
- • Ensure proper curing, protection, and surface quality; perform patching and repairs
- • Read and follow basic construction plans, layout marks, and crew lead directions
- • Maintain tools and equipment, keep the work area clean, and follow jobsite safety rules
What We're Looking For
- • 2+ years experience as a cement mason or concrete finisher on flatwork projects
- • Practical skills in concrete placement/pouring, finishing, and concrete repair
- • Experience with paving, civil construction, and general concrete work
- • Ability to perform formwork carpentry and use finishing tools (screed, float, trowel)
- • Can read basic plans, follow layout instructions, and work with a crew
- • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, work in all weather, and provide reliable transportation
Qualifications
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- • OSHA 10-hour construction card preferred or willing to obtain
- • Ability to read basic construction plans and measure layout
- • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- • Current First Aid/CPR certification preferred
