Cement Mason / Concrete Finisher

About this role

We are hiring experienced cement masons and concrete finishers in El Paso, TX to work on flatwork projects including slabs, sidewalks, and other surface placement. You’ll be part of crews handling concrete placement, leveling, finishing and proper curing across local commercial and civil sites. This is hands-on work in outdoor conditions. Typical assignments include day-shift work on project sites in the El Paso area with opportunities for overtime. You must be able to read basic construction plans, follow directions, and deliver consistent surface quality.

What you'll do

• • Place, spread and level concrete for slabs, sidewalks and flatwork using rakes, screeds, hand tools and power tools
• • Finish concrete surfaces to specified tolerance — float, trowel, broom finish and saw-cut as required
• • Set and strip formwork, build screeds and clean/maintain finishing tools and equipment
• • Monitor and carry out proper curing methods and surface protection to ensure quality and durability
• • Read and follow basic construction plans and layout lines; coordinate with crew leads to meet schedule and quality standards

What we're looking for

• • Proven concrete finishing and flatwork experience — slabs, sidewalks and flatwork
• • Knowledge of concrete placement, consolidation, finishing techniques and curing methods
• • Skill in concrete formwork carpentry and basic layout/measurement
• • Physical stamina for sustained manual labor, working outdoors in variable weather
• • Ability to read basic construction plans and follow crew directions safely

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10-hour construction safety card preferred
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
• • Ability to lift and handle heavy materials and stand for long periods
• • Basic English for safety and crew communication; Spanish bilingual skills are a plus
