Concrete Foreman
About This Role
Experienced Concrete Foreman needed to lead commercial concrete crews in Smithfield, RI. This hands-on role requires a proven track record in commercial concrete work, strong leadership, and the ability to manage jobsite logistics, quality, and safety for multi-discipline projects. You will mentor craft workers, coordinate schedules and materials, read and lay out from blueprints, and lead the site safety program. Regional travel across Massachusetts and Rhode Island is required. Union membership (current or willingness to join) and familiarity with construction software are required.
What You'll Do
- • Supervise, mentor and direct concrete crews on commercial projects; enforce quality and schedule targets.
- • Plan and coordinate jobsite layout, material storage, formwork setup, pours, and finishing operations.
- • Lead the site safety program and promote an Injury Free Environment (IFE); conduct safety briefings and inspections.
- • Read and interpret blueprints and perform layout; verify elevations, dimensions and form locations.
- • Coordinate with other trades, subcontractors and the project team to resolve issues and sequence work.
- • Track materials, process timesheets, assist with resource-loaded schedules, and perform hands-on work as needed.
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 10 years commercial concrete experience with 3+ years as a leadman/foreman.
- • Current Union member or willing to join the local union; willingness for regional travel across MA/RI.
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.
- • Proficient reading and interpreting blueprints; strong math skills for layout and volume calculations.
- • Experience with construction software (PlanGrid, HammerTech, Rhumbix or similar) and comfortable using an iPad.
- • Proven ability to manage crews, enforce safety procedures, and maintain production and quality metrics.
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- • Current union membership or willingness to join local union
- • Proficient with PlanGrid, HammerTech, Rhumbix or similar construction software
- • Strong blueprint reading and layout skills; able to calculate area, volume, percentages and proportions
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regional travel
- • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in outdoor/variable conditions
