Concrete Worker / Laborer

About this role

Join a commercial construction crew in New Albany, OH building and installing concrete formwork and temporary structures. This hands-on role focuses on framing vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking, and temporary supports for bridges, tunnels, sidewalks and slabs. You will work outdoors in all weather, at elevated heights, and perform heavy physical tasks. Candidates should have solid commercial carpentry experience with concrete forms, be safety-minded, and be able to provide and maintain their own basic hand tools.

What you'll do

• • Build vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms and blocking from sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions
• • Construct and dismantle scaffolds, tunnel/bridge/sewer supports, billboard supports and temporary frame shelters
• • Measure, cut, layout and fasten lumber and form components; install bracing and shoring as required
• • Follow site safety protocols, maintain a drug-free work environment and use personal protective equipment
• • Perform general site cleanup, load/unload materials and assist concrete crew during pours and finishing as directed

What we're looking for

• • Minimum 3 years commercial construction carpentry experience with concrete forms preferred
• • Ability to read basic sketches and blueprints and perform accurate measuring and cutting
• • Comfortable working at elevated heights and in all outdoor weather conditions
• • Capable of frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods
• • Provide and maintain personal hand tools (hammer, speed square, tape measure, chalk box, pliers, tool pouch) and follow site safety rules

Qualifications

• • 3+ years commercial carpentry experience with concrete forms preferred
• • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and follow a drug-free policy
• • Comfortable working at heights and using scaffolding systems
• • Own basic hand tools required; tool list provided during interview
