Journeyman Concrete Worker
About This Role
Journeyman concrete worker needed for industrial and commercial projects in Abilene, TX. This is a per diem position paying a flat $32/hour plus $130 per diem for each day worked. You’ll be expected to handle journeyman-level concrete tasks and work reliably on-site. Ideal candidates have solid concrete experience across finishing, placement, formwork and repair. If you’re comfortable reading basic plans, leading tasks on a jobsite, and working on commercial or civil projects, this is a straightforward, well-paying assignment with daily per diem pay while on site.
What You'll Do
- • Perform concrete placement and pouring for slabs, footings, curbs, and other structures
- • Set and build formwork and perform form carpentry to required dimensions
- • Finish concrete surfaces to project specifications (trowel, broom, float, power tools)
- • Execute concrete repair and patching on industrial/commercial jobs
- • Follow layout and grade instructions; read plans and work with layout crew or foreman
What We're Looking For
- • Journeyman-level concrete experience on industrial or commercial projects
- • Concrete finishing, placement/pouring, and formwork carpentry skills
- • Experience with concrete repair and concrete paving work
- • Ability to read basic plans, follow grades, and work from layout
- • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, operate finishing tools, and work outdoors
Qualifications
- • Minimum: journeyman-level concrete experience (required)
- • Proven experience with concrete finishing, placement, and formwork
- • Ability to read basic blueprints and site layouts
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to jobsite
- • OSHA 10 (preferred) and willingness to follow site safety rules
