Crane Operator — Houston, TX
About This Role
Certified Crane Operator needed in Houston, TX to run mobile and tower cranes on construction and industrial sites. This hands-on role focuses on safe, efficient lifts, clear communication with rigging crews, and keeping equipment inspected and maintained. You’ll work day shifts with regular overtime opportunities. Expect steady local and regional projects, competitive hourly pay based on experience, and a safety-first crew environment. NCCCO certification and proven multi-crane/critical-lift experience are required.
What You'll Do
- • Operate mobile and tower cranes safely according to load charts, lift plans, and site instructions
- • Set up, level, and rig cranes; perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections and routine maintenance
- • Coordinate lifts with riggers, signal persons, supervisors, and other trades; follow standard hand and radio signals
- • Execute critical lifts and multi-crane lifts per lift plans and engineering requirements
- • Complete daily logs, inspection reports, and safety paperwork; report defects and safety hazards immediately
What We're Looking For
- • Active NCCCO crane operator certification (required)
- • Proven experience with crane signaling, critical lifting, and multi-crane lift operations
- • Strong knowledge of OSHA crane standards and safe rigging practices
- • Ability to read load charts, lift plans, and basic rigging diagrams
- • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass drug screen and background check
Qualifications
- • NCCCO crane operator certification (mandatory)
- • Signalperson or rigging certification preferred
- • OSHA 10 (preferred) or OSHA 30 a plus
- • Fluent in English for safe radio/hand signaling communication
- • Physically able to climb, lift, and work at heights per job requirements
