Crane Operator

About This Role

Join a hands-on crew as a Crane Operator supporting structural steel erection and rigging projects across Florida. You will operate mobile and crawler cranes to lift, position, and set beams, columns, joists and specialty steel while working directly with riggers and ironworkers. This role emphasizes safe, precise lifting: read load charts and lift plans, coordinate lifts by hand signals and radio, perform daily equipment inspections, and follow site safety rules. Travel to jobsites statewide is required; overnight stays may be necessary. Pay up to $40/hr depending on experience.

What You'll Do

• • Operate mobile and crawler cranes for hanging, positioning, and setting beams, columns, joists and specialty steel
• • Read and follow load charts, lift plans and rigging configurations for each lift
• • Coordinate lifts with riggers and crew using standard hand signals and radio communication
• • Perform daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report defects or safety issues
• • Assist with rigging: slings, shackles, chokers, spreader bars; secure loads for safe movement
• • Maintain crane and rigging gear in clean, safe condition and communicate hazards to supervision

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience operating mobile and crawler cranes on structural steel erection jobs
• • Able to read and apply load charts, lift plans and rigging setups
• • Skilled in multi-crane, critical, and blind lifts and standard crane signaling
• • Strong communication with riggers, ironworkers and supervisors (hand signals & radio)
• • Willingness to travel statewide with occasional overnight stays and flexible schedule

Qualifications

• • NCCCO Crane certification (mobile and/or crawler)
• • NCCCO Rigger certification
• • Documented crane operating experience on structural steel projects
• • Ability to travel statewide and stay overnight as needed
• • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug screen/background check
