Crane Operator

About This Role

Join a field crew as a Crane Operator supporting structural steel erection and rigging projects across Florida. You'll run mobile and crawler cranes to lift, position, and set beams, columns, joists, and specialty steel — working side-by-side with riggers and ironworkers to complete safe, precise lifts. This role requires a steady focus on safety and lift planning, the ability to read load charts and lift plans, and willingness to travel to jobsites statewide (overnight stays may be required). Pay is up to $40/hr based on experience and certifications.

What You'll Do

• • Operate mobile and crawler cranes to lift, move, and set structural steel and materials for erection
• • Read and follow load charts, lift plans, and rigging configurations for each lift
• • Coordinate lifts with riggers and crew using standard hand signals and radio communication
• • Perform daily crane and rigging inspections; report and tag out equipment deficiencies
• • Assist with rigging: slings, shackles, chokers, spreader bars and multi-crane lifts as needed
• • Maintain clean, safe operating condition of crane and rigging equipment on site

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience operating mobile and/or crawler cranes on structural steel jobs
• • Strong ability to read load charts, lift plans, and rigging diagrams
• • Comfort with critical and multi-crane lifts, blind lifts, and precise beam placement
• • Physical fitness for rigging, climbing, and working at heights; reliable attendance
• • Clear radio/hand-signal communication skills and teamwork with riggers/ironworkers

Qualifications

• • NCCCO Crane Operator certification (required)
• • NCCCO Rigger certification (required)
• • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
• • Ability to read and understand English lift plans and radio instructions
• • Minimum 2-3 years crane experience preferred for steel erection
