Datacom Helper (Entry-Level) — Indianapolis, IN

About this role

Entry-level datacom helpers needed in Indianapolis to support structured cabling work inside a data center. This is a hands-on helper role paying $24/hr for candidates who want to learn copper and fiber installation and grow into low-voltage installer roles. You will work alongside experienced installers, performing basic installation tasks, pulling and routing CAT5/CAT6 and fiber, and maintaining tidy, safe work areas. Open to candidates willing to relocate to Indiana — on-the-job training provided for motivated newcomers.

What you'll do

• • Assist with structured cabling installation in a data center environment.
• • Pull, measure, terminate and install CAT5/CAT6 copper cabling under supervision.
• • Help install, route and secure fiber optic cabling and associated components.
• • Label, document and organize cable runs and patch panels.
• • Prepare cable pathways: cable trays, ladders, conduit and raceways.
• • Keep tools and work area clean; follow site safety and access procedures.

What we're looking for

• • Basic low-voltage knowledge or a willingness to learn on the job.
• • Able to follow directions, work as part of a crew and take instruction from lead installers.
• • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and work in raised-floor or ceiling spaces.
• • Reliable attendance and punctuality; open to candidates willing to relocate to Indianapolis.
• • Able to pass a background check and drug screen as required by site access.

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or GED preferred.
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (or willingness to relocate).
• • Able to pass background check and drug screening.
• • Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs and working on ladders or in confined spaces.
• • Previous low-voltage or datacom coursework/certificates a plus (but not required).
