Drywall Framer

About this role

Hands-on Drywall Framer needed in Huntersville, NC to read plans, hang and finish drywall and acoustical ceilings to project specifications. You’ll work across local job sites, focusing on accurate installation, clean finishing, and safe setup of scaffolds and stilts. This role is practical and team-oriented: measure and cut materials, install metal framing and ceilings, tape/mud/sand, patch seams, and support other site activities as directed. Expect varied daily tasks, travel between nearby sites, and on-the-job training to sharpen your trade skills.

What you'll do

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine install methods and material needs
  • Measure, cut, fit and hang drywall on walls and ceilings; work on stilts and scaffolding as required
  • Install acoustical ceiling systems and steel interior framing for partitions and nonbearing walls
  • Tape, mud, sand and texture drywall joints; patch seams and fill gaps to meet finish specs
  • Set up and maintain scaffolding, stilts and fall-protection equipment; keep tools and work area safe and organized

What we're looking for

  • 2+ years experience hanging and finishing drywall or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Ability to read drawings, layout framing, and follow project specifications
  • Skilled in taping, mudding, sanding, texturing and drywall repair
  • Comfortable working on stilts, scaffolds and at heights; able to lift and handle materials
  • Familiarity with steel framing, acoustical ceiling installation, and fire-stopping details
  • Reliable transportation to travel between Huntersville-area job sites and flexible schedule for site needs

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 (preferred) or site-safety training completion
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Scaffold and fall protection training or willingness to complete before start
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • English required; Spanish or other language skills a plus
