Apprentice Electrician
About this role
Join a commercial electrical team in the Dallas–Fort Worth area as an Apprentice Electrician working under the direction of a Master Electrician. You’ll learn on real job sites — installing conduit, wiring, lighting and raceways — while following company safety standards and working alongside experienced tradespeople. This role requires reliable transportation, physical readiness for construction work, and a commitment to safe, quality work. The position may include travel outside Texas and provides training and support to grow into higher-level electrical roles.
What you'll do
- • Work on commercial job sites assisting a Master Electrician and journeymen with installations and service work.
- • Pull, route and terminate wire; install conduit, raceways, lighting fixtures and basic panel components under supervision.
- • Assist with troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems while following lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
- • Read and work from basic blueprints, layout drawings and wiring diagrams to complete assigned tasks.
- • Maintain hand tools and job-site housekeeping; report material needs and safety concerns to supervisors.
- • Complete site safety orientation and follow company safety program and quality standards at all times.
What we're looking for
- • Possess or obtain a current Texas Apprentice Electrician license prior to work start.
- • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to DFW-area and occasional out-of-state job sites.
- • Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders/scaffolds, stoop and work in confined spaces; comfortable working on energized circuits when required and authorized.
- • Basic hand tools in good condition (tool list provided upon hire) and a willingness to learn trade skills.
- • Strong mechanical aptitude, good verbal communication, ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
- • Must pass a criminal background check, drug test and provide a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- • Current Texas Apprentice Electrician license or proof of application/ability to obtain one.
- • High school diploma or GED and verifiable trade references.
- • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- • Able to pass background check and drug screening prior to start.
- • Comfortable working on energized circuits (preferred) and following OSHA/site safety rules.
- • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
What we offer
- • Health, dental and vision coverage available through employer benefit plans.
- • Per diem or travel reimbursement for out-of-area assignments.
- • Paid site safety training and support to enroll in an industry apprenticeship program.
- • Opportunities for on-the-job training and advancement to journeyman-level roles.
- • Retirement plan access (where offered) and paid time off policies.
