Apprentice Electrician
About This Role
Join as an Apprentice Electrician in the Dallas–Fort Worth area working on commercial jobs under the direction of a Master Electrician. This is a hands-on role focused on learning trade skills, jobsite safety, and teamwork. Expect travel within the DFW area and occasional out-of-state work with per diem provided. This role is for a dependable, hard-working person with a strong mechanical aptitude who wants to build a career in commercial electrical work.
What You'll Do
- • Work on commercial job sites under the direction of a Master Electrician and Journeyman—follow instructions and complete assigned tasks.
- • Install conduit, run cable, pull wire, and install lighting, outlets, and raceways per project plans and codes.
- • Read and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, and job tickets; assist with layout and marking of circuits.
- • Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and making safe connections; work on energized circuits only when supervised and in compliance with safety rules.
- • Maintain basic hand tools, keep tools and equipment in good condition, and help keep the jobsite clean and organized.
- • Follow all safety protocols, complete required safety training, and report hazards or incidents immediately.
What We're Looking For
- • Must have or obtain a State of Texas Apprentice Electrician license prior to or immediately upon hire.
- • Reliable transportation and ability to travel; position may require overnight travel (per diem provided).
- • Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and scaffolds, stoop and bend repeatedly, and work in confined spaces.
- • Own basic hand tools in good condition (tool list provided on hire).
- • Willingness to learn, strong mechanical aptitude, and good verbal communication skills to work with supervisors and crew.
- • Must pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- • Current (or ability to obtain) Texas Apprentice Electrician license (required).
- • High school diploma or GED and transcripts available upon request.
- • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- • Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders and meet physical demands of the trade.
- • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
- • Willing to pass background check and drug screen; provide trade references upon request.
