Electrical Journeyman

Surprise, AZ $24-$37/hr

About this role

We are hiring an experienced Electrical Journeyman to join commercial construction crews in the Surprise, AZ area (within ~50 miles). You will work under a Foreman installing, repairing, and troubleshooting wiring, fixtures, panels, motors, and distribution equipment on commercial job sites. This is hands-on field work on commercial projects. You must be able to read blueprints and schematics, use testing instruments, bend and install conduit, complete material and labor reporting, and follow site safety procedures. Reliable transportation and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen are required.

What you'll do

  • Install and repair wiring, fixtures, motors, panels, and control/distribution equipment per blueprints and electrical code.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit and cables; use conduit benders and pipe threaders.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot circuits and equipment using multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, and other test instruments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals; complete work orders, material reports, and job documentation.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, keep work areas clean, inspect work at completion, and report deficiencies.
  • Follow and enforce site safety procedures, attend safety meetings, and support the Foreman in maintaining a strong safety culture.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of commercial construction electrical experience
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Proven conduit bending and installation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Experience installing and maintaining panels, overcurrent devices, distribution and standby/emergency systems
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass background check and drug screen
