Electrical Journeyman

Surprise, AZ $24-$37/hr

About this role

We are hiring a commercial Electrical Journeyman to work on construction projects in the Surprise, AZ area (within 50 miles). You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot wiring, fixtures, panels, motors, and distribution equipment under the direction of a Foreman. This is hands-on field work on commercial job sites. Expect to read blueprints and schematics, follow electrical codes, complete work orders and material reports, and actively contribute to a strong jobsite safety culture. Candidates must be able to travel to sites within the specified radius and perform physically demanding tasks.

What you'll do

  • Install and repair wiring, fixtures, motors, panels, control and distribution equipment per blueprints and electrical code
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit, raceways, cables, and power-supply wiring
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical circuits and equipment using meters and testing instruments; test continuity and safety
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals; complete work orders and material reporting accurately
  • Maintain tools and equipment, keep work areas clean, and inspect finished work for code compliance and quality
  • Follow and enforce site safety procedures and participate in site-specific safety training

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of commercial construction electrical experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Skilled with conduit bending, conduit installation, and selection/installation of overcurrent devices
  • Experience installing and maintaining distribution and standby/emergency systems
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites within a 50-mile radius
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen

Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 certification (required)
  • State electrical license or journeyman card (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years commercial electrical experience
  • Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Proven competency with electrical testing equipment and safe work practices
