Electrical General Foreman
About This Role
Join a Richmond, VA construction team as an Electrical General Foreman. You’ll supervise electricians, apprentices, and laborers on commercial jobs—setting schedules, organizing materials, and making sure all electrical work meets NEC, plans, and company quality standards. This is a hands-on lead role: you’ll train crew members, inspect work for quality, resolve on-site issues, and keep projects on time and on budget. Pay up to $44/hr, overtime available. Ideal for a experienced foreman who enforces safety, reads blueprints, and gets the job done right.
What You'll Do
- • Supervise and train electricians, apprentices, and laborers on daily tasks and safe work methods
- • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and work orders to set installation sequences
- • Schedule work and coordinate materials, equipment, and other trades to meet project timelines
- • Conduct quality control inspections; correct deficiencies and document completed work
- • Troubleshoot on-site electrical issues and make timely decisions to keep work moving
- • Enforce safety standards and maintain jobsite housekeeping and compliance with codes
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 3 years as Foreman/Leadman in commercial construction and at least 7 years field experience as a Journeyman electrician
- • Strong blueprint, schematic, and specification reading skills; able to plan installations from drawings
- • Proven ability with conduit bending, wireway/raceway installation, lighting and commercial electrical service work
- • Solid knowledge of the NEC and electrical testing procedures; able to use common test equipment and hand tools to diagnose systems
- • Clear communication and leadership skills; able to manage crews, subcontractors, and coordinate with other trades
- • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check and drug screen
Qualifications
- • OSHA 30 preferred
- • Journeyman electrician license preferred
- • Valid Driver’s License required
- • Must pass background check and drug test
- • English required
