Journeyman Electrician — Dallas, TX

Dallas, TX $23-$34/hr

About this role

Work on commercial projects across the Dallas-Fort Worth area as a Journeyman Electrician working under the direction of a Master Electrician. You will lead and direct apprentices, test and repair electrical systems, read blueprints and code books, and keep work documented and code-compliant. This is a per diem position covering varied schedules including evenings, weekends and outdoor work. Candidates must provide their own transportation and be able to work in physically demanding conditions. Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and safety focus are required.

What you'll do

  • Test, diagnose and repair electrical systems using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters and other specialized tools
  • Lead, direct and mentor 3–4 apprentices on job sites to complete work safely, correctly and on schedule
  • Read and follow blueprints, equipment schedules and code books; record testing results and job documentation precisely
  • Respond to emergency calls, assess safety, and provide clear direction to resolve issues quickly
  • Maintain and inspect tools and equipment; report defects and ensure tools are safe to use
  • Follow OSHA, site-specific safety programs and company quality procedures on every job

What we're looking for

  • Current, non-expired Texas Journeyman electrician license
  • Experience troubleshooting commercial circuits, medium/high voltage, lighting and data systems
  • Comfortable performing work on energized circuits while maintaining full compliance with OSHA and company safety rules (preferred)
  • Ability to read blueprints, pull conduit, size and install overcurrent devices, and use code books
  • Proven leadership on site with the ability to direct multiple apprentices and coordinate with inspectors/vendors
  • Able to work nights, weekends, outdoors and in inclement weather; must handle frequent heavy lifting and climbing

Qualifications

  • State of Texas Journeyman electrician license (required)
  • OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 certifications (required)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Able to pass criminal background check and drug screen
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish (required)
  • Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship or equivalent trade school (preferred)
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders/scaffolding and work in confined spaces
