Journeyman Electrician — Commercial Projects
About this role
Join a commercial electrical crew in the Plano/Dallas–Fort Worth area as a Journeyman Electrician working under a Master Electrician. You’ll lead apprentices, respond to emergency calls, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, and make sure work meets safety and code standards. This is a per diem, field role that requires reliable transportation and the ability to work evenings, weekends and outdoor job sites. Strong hands-on troubleshooting, clear communication, and strict adherence to OSHA and the company safety program are required.
What you'll do
- • Test, diagnose and repair electrical systems using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters and other trade tools.
- • Lead and direct 3–4 apprentices on site: assign tasks, check work, and ensure safe procedures are followed.
- • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and code books; lay out work and install wireways, raceways and conduit.
- • Document actions, test results, observations and final diagnoses clearly and promptly.
- • Respond to emergency calls: assess safety, isolate issues and provide direction to restore systems quickly.
- • Maintain tools and equipment, report defects, and complete required site safety training before starting work.
What we're looking for
- • Current, non-expired Texas Journeyman Electrician license.
- • OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 certifications required; able to follow and enforce OSHA and company safety programs.
- • Proven ability to test and troubleshoot energized and de-energized circuits safely; comfortable with medium/low voltage systems and lighting.
- • Experience reading blueprints, code books and equipment schedules; able to lay out jobs and coordinate permit/inspection needs.
- • Leadership experience directing apprentices or small crews; strong verbal and written communication with customers, inspectors and trades.
- • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to provide reliable transportation; must pass background check and drug screen.

- • Texas Journeyman Electrician license (current)
- • OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 certifications
- • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- • Bilingual: English and Spanish
- • Completed apprenticeship program or trade-school equivalent (preferred)
- • Must pass criminal background check and drug screen
