Journeyman Electrician
About This Role
Join our team as a Journeyman Electrician based in Plano, TX, working commercial jobs across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. You'll work under a Master Electrician, lead apprentices on-site, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, and keep projects running safely and on schedule. This role is hands-on and fast-paced. Expect varied work conditions (outdoors, evenings, weekends) and steady commercial assignments. Pay range is $19–$46/hr plus per diem. Candidates must provide their own transportation and hold a current Texas journeyman license.
What You'll Do
- • Test, diagnose and repair electrical systems using voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes and other specialized tools
- • Lead, direct and coordinate work for apprentices (typically 3–4) to complete jobs safely and to code
- • Read blueprints, electrical schematics and code books; lay out work and follow equipment schedules
- • Document testing, troubleshooting steps, final diagnoses and repairs clearly and accurately
- • Respond to emergency calls, assess safety, and perform timely repairs or triage as needed
- • Maintain and inspect tools/equipment; report defects and follow company safety and quality procedures
What We're Looking For
- • Current (non-expired) Texas Journeyman Electrician license
- • Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship program or equivalent trade school experience preferred
- • Proven troubleshooting skills on commercial circuits; able to work on energized circuits while following OSHA and company rules
- • Comfortable reading blueprints, code books, and equipment schedules
- • Leadership experience directing apprentices and coordinating crew tasks
- • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation to DFW job sites; must pass background check and drug screen
Qualifications
- • Texas Journeyman Electrician license (current)
- • OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 10 certification
- • Bilingual: English required; Spanish a plus
- • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug test
- • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- • Trade references available upon request
