About This Role

We are hiring a journeyman electrician in Sacramento to work on commercial construction projects across the region. This is hands-on field work installing, maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems on offices, retail, and light industrial sites. You will work with construction crews and foremen to complete installs to code, test systems, and keep jobs running safely and on schedule. Ideal candidates are practical, safety-first electricians with commercial experience and a journeyman credential.

What You'll Do

  • Install, connect and terminate commercial electrical systems: feeders, branch circuits, panels, conduits, raceways and motors
  • Perform lighting installation, wiring for HVAC controls, receptacles, and specialty systems per plans and specs
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems — diagnose faults, measure amps/voltage, identify wear and safety issues, and make repairs
  • Read blueprints and electrical schematics; lay out work and coordinate with other trades on site
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state and federal electrical and safety codes and maintain clean, safe work areas
  • Test and commission systems, document work, and communicate progress to foremen and project leads

What We're Looking For

  • Journeyman electrician status or equivalent certification and 3+ years commercial electrical experience
  • Proven ability with commercial electrical service installation and lighting systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (safety checks, amp/voltage testing, identifying wear and failure points)
  • Familiarity with residential wiring basics and general construction site practices
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal electrical codes and safety regulations
  • Able to work on ladders, lifts and in varied weather; reliable attendance and teamwork mindset

Qualifications

  • Valid journeyman electrician card or state-recognized certification
  • OSHA 10 (or OSHA 30 preferred)
  • Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • CPR/First Aid preferred; Spanish language skills a plus

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay (DOE) with overtime available
  • Health, dental and vision options
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • 401(k) or retirement plan options
  • Tool/boot allowance and support for required PPE
  • Training and certification support to advance skills
