Journeyman Electrician

Orlando, FL Up to $38/hr

About This Role

Join a Central Florida electrical crew as a Journeyman Electrician. You’ll install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment on commercial and industrial projects, working to plans, specs and electrical code under the direction of a Foreman. Pay up to $38/hr with steady projects across the Orlando area. This is hands-on construction work: conduit bending, pulling and terminating wire, installing fixtures and panels, troubleshooting circuits with test equipment, and keeping accurate materials and labor records. Safety, quality, and meeting schedule timelines are required every day on site.

What You'll Do

  • Install and repair wiring, fixtures, panels, motors, relays and control devices per blueprints, schematics and code.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread and install conduit, raceways and cable; assemble fittings and secure wiring runs.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems using multimeters, megohmmeters and other test equipment; test continuity and verify safe operation.
  • Install and connect power supply wiring, distribution equipment, overcurrent devices and standby/emergency systems.
  • Keep accurate records of materials, labor and completed work orders; maintain and care for company tools and equipment.
  • Keep work areas clean, inspect finished work, follow jobsite safety procedures and work under Foreman direction to meet schedules.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ commercial/industrial electrical experience or equivalent journeyman-level experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Skilled in conduit bending, raceway and wireway installation, lighting and commercial service work.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills using electrical test instruments; familiarity with overcurrent devices and standby/emergency systems.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions, perform basic math for load calculations, and enforce jobsite safety procedures.
  • Capable of physical work: climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces and at heights.

Qualifications

  • State Licensed Electrician (Florida or equivalent state license) — required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Willingness to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Proven commercial journeyman experience and ability to read technical drawings.
  • OSHA construction safety training (10- or 30-hour) preferred.

What We Offer

  • Pay up to $38/hr (depending on experience) with regular work in Central Florida.
  • Overtime opportunities and consistent project schedules across Orlando-area sites.
  • Paid time off and holiday pay (details provided at interview).
  • Safety gear and a tool allowance or company tool program where applicable.
  • Training and certification support and on-the-job skill development.
  • Clear chain of supervision and steady foreman-led crews.
