Electrician — Healthcare / Commercial

Myrtle Beach, SC

About This Role

Experienced commercial electrician needed for healthcare facility projects in Myrtle Beach, SC. You’ll work on hospitals, clinics, and medical offices handling installations, maintenance, and system upgrades that must meet strict healthcare codes and reliability standards. This is hands-on work with commercial electrical systems — distribution gear, emergency/standby systems, lighting, low-voltage VDV, and overcurrent device selection. If you read electrical drawings, follow NEC and healthcare standards, and prefer steady, project-based commercial work, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Install, wire, and test commercial distribution equipment, panels, switchgear, and overcurrent devices on healthcare projects
  • Install and commission standby generators, emergency power systems, and transfer switches to meet hospital/clinic reliability requirements
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and shop prints; follow as‑built and schedule changes on site
  • Install and maintain lighting systems, branch circuits, and low-voltage voice/data/video (VDV) systems in clinical and support areas
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial electrical and airside systems while documenting work and maintaining site safety
  • Coordinate with contractors, facility staff, and inspectors to ensure compliance with local, state, federal regulations and healthcare-specific codes (e.g., NFPA, facility standards)

What We're Looking For

  • Proven commercial electrical experience on healthcare projects (hospitals, clinics, medical offices)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, one-lines, and schematics
  • Hands-on experience with standby/emergency power systems, transfer switches, and overcurrent device selection/installation
  • Working knowledge of low-voltage systems and VDV (voice, data, video) installation and termination
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific codes and standards, NEC, and local/state/federal compliance requirements
  • Comfortable with general commercial construction site duties, troubleshooting, and maintaining clear documentation

Qualifications

  • SC Journeyman or Master electrician license (or eligible to obtain)
  • OSHA 10 (minimum) or OSHA 30 preferred
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Experience with NFPA 99, NEC, and healthcare electrical standards preferred

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience (pay DOE)
  • Overtime available and project-based steady work
  • Health insurance options and paid time off (details vary by assignment)
  • 401(k) or retirement plan options and potential match
  • Tool and boot allowance or reimbursement where applicable
  • Travel and per diem paid for out-of-area assignments when required
