Licensed Electrical Journeyman
About This Role
Licensed Electrical Journeyman needed in Rayville, LA for hands-on installation, maintenance and testing of electrical systems. This is a per diem position paying up to $42/hr and open to candidates willing to relocate. You’ll work on medium- and low-voltage equipment — motors, transformers, generators and distribution gear — reading plans, wiring panels and performing preventive maintenance and repairs. Safety, code compliance and reliable workmanship are expected every day.
What You'll Do
- • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, panels, fixtures, motors, transformers and generators
- • Connect and terminate wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components; perform stress-cone and splice terminations
- • Test systems and continuity using ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes and other testers; document results
- • Read plans, drawings and work orders to determine work sequence and required materials
- • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot faults and replace faulty parts to restore service
- • Follow safety procedures and electrical codes; perform work on medium-voltage and high-voltage systems as required
What We're Looking For
- • State Licensed Electrician (required)
- • Minimum 2 years hands-on journeyman experience with MV and LV systems
- • Proven conduit bending and termination skills (stress cones, splice terminators, terminating)
- • Comfortable using meters, oscilloscopes and standard electrician hand/power tools
- • Able to read plans and follow specifications; able to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Qualifications
- • State Licensed Electrician
- • Trade or technical school certificate or journeyman card
- • 2+ years related electrical experience (MV/LV, transformers, motors)
- • Conduit bending competency and termination experience
- • English required; Spanish a plus
- • Current driver’s license
