Licensed Electrical Journeyman

About This Role

Licensed Electrical Journeyman needed in Rayville, LA for hands-on installation, maintenance and testing of electrical systems. This is a per diem position paying up to $42/hr and open to candidates willing to relocate. You’ll work on medium- and low-voltage equipment — motors, transformers, generators and distribution gear — reading plans, wiring panels and performing preventive maintenance and repairs. Safety, code compliance and reliable workmanship are expected every day.

What You'll Do

• • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, panels, fixtures, motors, transformers and generators
• • Connect and terminate wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components; perform stress-cone and splice terminations
• • Test systems and continuity using ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes and other testers; document results
• • Read plans, drawings and work orders to determine work sequence and required materials
• • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot faults and replace faulty parts to restore service
• • Follow safety procedures and electrical codes; perform work on medium-voltage and high-voltage systems as required

What We're Looking For

• • State Licensed Electrician (required)
• • Minimum 2 years hands-on journeyman experience with MV and LV systems
• • Proven conduit bending and termination skills (stress cones, splice terminators, terminating)
• • Comfortable using meters, oscilloscopes and standard electrician hand/power tools
• • Able to read plans and follow specifications; able to lift and handle materials up to 50 lbs
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• • State Licensed Electrician
• • Trade or technical school certificate or journeyman card
• • 2+ years related electrical experience (MV/LV, transformers, motors)
• • Conduit bending competency and termination experience
• • English required; Spanish a plus
• • Current driver’s license
