Electrical Journeyman

Dallas, TX $23-$34/hr

About this role

Join a project-based crew in Dallas as an Electrical Journeyman installing, testing, repairing, and maintaining power and electrical systems on commercial and industrial sites. You will work on wiring, motors, transformers, generators and high-voltage systems while following codes and safe work practices. This role requires reading plans and blueprints, troubleshooting systems in the field, coordinating with a team, and willingness to travel or relocate for projects. Training and on-site safety briefings are provided; day-to-day work is hands-on and task-oriented.

What you'll do

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain wiring, fixtures, circuit components, and electrical equipment using hand and power tools
  • Install, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, generators and high-voltage/distribution equipment to code
  • Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications and work orders to determine work sequence and materials
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems with meters and testers; replace faulty components and verify system operation
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area; follow site safety plans, lockout/tagout, and participate in regular safety training

What we're looking for

  • State licensed electrician (required) with journeyman-level experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant electrical installation and maintenance experience on commercial/industrial projects
  • Proven experience with transformer/distribution equipment, overcurrent device selection/installation, and standby/emergency systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with typical test equipment (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter); comfortable working with high-voltage systems
  • Willingness to travel or relocate for project assignments and work variable schedules as needed

Qualifications

  • State Licensed Electrician (required)
  • High school diploma or GED; trade/technical school certification preferred
  • Minimum two years related electrical experience
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • OSHA or equivalent safety training (preferred)
  • Spanish language skills a plus
