Solar MV Terminator Electrician — Pueblo, CO
About This Role
Seeking skilled electricians in Pueblo, Colorado to work on solar medium-voltage (MV) terminator projects. This is a per diem position focused on 34.5 kV terminations and PV system tie-ins. Work is hands-on in the field on utility-scale solar projects. Candidates should have proven experience with medium-voltage terminations and solar installations. Journeyman and qualified apprentices with MV experience are encouraged to apply. Expect steady project work, daily site travel, and a crew-focused environment where safety and correct workmanship come first.
What You'll Do
- • Perform medium-voltage terminations (up to 34.5 kV) on cable and equipment per project specs
- • Install and terminate PV array conductors, combiner boxes, and interconnection equipment
- • Use MV test equipment (Hipot, meggers, TTR) to verify terminations and perform commissioning tests
- • Follow lift, rigging and excavation procedures; operate hand and power tools safely
- • Read and follow electrical prints, single-line diagrams and written work instructions
- • Complete daily reports, time sheets, job documentation and coordinate with foreman/crew
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 2+ years experience with medium-voltage terminations and solar PV installations
- • Familiarity with 34.5 kV systems, MV terminations, slicing and related cable prep
- • Journeyman or advanced apprentice-level skills in the electrician trade
- • Able to use MV test gear and common electrical hand/power tools safely
- • Physically fit for climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working outdoors in varying conditions
- • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation to Pueblo site, and ability to pass drug screen
Qualifications
- • Journeyman electrician card or active apprenticeship status
- • Documented experience with medium-voltage (34.5 kV) terminations
- • PV/Solar installation experience; NABCEP a plus but not required
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 construction safety card
- • MV termination training or manufacturer-specific termination certificates
- • CPR/First Aid preferred
- • Clean driving record and ability to pass background check
