Field Electrician / Electronics Technician
About this role
We’re hiring a hands-on Field Electrician / Electronics Technician based in the Dallas, TX area to install, commission and maintain uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and automatic transfer switches (ATS) across customer sites. - • Install and commission UPS systems and automatic transfer switches (ATS) from multiple manufacturers, following manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
- • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on transformers, distribution equipment, standby/emergency systems and commercial electrical service components.
- • Troubleshoot electrical systems and controls, including power/fuse issues, amp/load checks, and controls programming; integrate technology and networked equipment as required.
- • Provide technical support and clear communication to clients on site, including documenting work, testing results, and recommending corrective actions.
- • Follow site safety plans and maintain tools, test equipment and documentation for each job; assist with handoffs to operations or client teams as needed.
What we're looking for
- • Proven experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting UPS systems, transfer switches/ATS and standby/emergency power systems.
- • Hands-on experience with transformer installation/maintenance, distribution equipment and commercial electrical service work.
- • Strong controls troubleshooting and controls installation/programming skills; comfortable with networked power equipment and basic network troubleshooting.
- • Ability to read electrical schematics, perform load and amp testing, and troubleshoot power, fuses and protective devices.
- • Willing and able to travel domestically 50–75%, work overnight travel assignments, and be away from home for multi-day jobs.
Qualifications
- • CPR, AED and First Aid certification (current)
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training
- • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
- • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel frequently; passport preferred for certain assignments
- • Prior military service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard) or equivalent field service is a plus
What we offer
- • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance plus travel reimbursement and per diem for overnight assignments.
- • Paid time off and holiday schedule (details provided during hiring).
- • Health, dental and vision plan options available.
- • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match and training opportunities for manufacturer certifications.
