Electrician / Electronics Technician

About this role

Looking for a hands-on Electrician or Electronics Technician to install, commission and maintain Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and transfer switch power systems. This is a field role based out of Phoenix, AZ with heavy domestic travel—expect 50%–75% time on the road. You’ll work on UPS and transfer switch systems from multiple manufacturers, perform transformer and distribution work, troubleshoot controls and networked power equipment, and provide on-site technical support to clients. This role fits technicians who like travel, problem-solving, and direct client interaction. Veterans and bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

What you'll do

  • Install, wire, commission and maintain UPS systems and associated battery and distribution equipment at customer sites
  • Install, test and service transfer switches and standby/emergency power systems, including transformer and distribution work
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, fuses, power quality and related faults in the field
  • Install and program controls, integrate technology and troubleshoot networked power equipment and site communications
  • Provide technical support and clear documentation to clients: site reports, test records, and service paperwork
  • Travel to domestic job sites (50%–75%), complete on-site work safely, and follow site-specific safety and customer protocols

What we're looking for

  • Minimum experience installing and maintaining UPS systems, transfer switches, standby/emergency systems and distribution equipment
  • Skilled at troubleshooting electrical systems, controls, power issues (amps, fuses, wear) and performing field repairs
  • Experience with controls installation and programming and basic network equipment troubleshooting
  • Able and willing to travel 50%–75% domestically, including overnight stays and multi-day assignments
  • Physically able to lift tools/equipment, work in server rooms and rooftop/utility spaces, and follow confined-space/safety rules
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; reliable for frequent travel

Qualifications

  • CPR, AED and First Aid certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (must have one)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Military veterans encouraged — prior service in Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or Marine Corps accepted
  • Relevant electrical or electronics field experience and proven hands-on troubleshooting skills
