Electrician / Electronics Technician — Field Service (50–75% Travel)

About This Role

Seeking a hands-on Electrician or Electronics Technician based in Phoenix, AZ to install, maintain and commission Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and ASCO transfer switches. This is a travel-heavy, field-facing role — expect 50%–75% domestic travel to commercial and industrial sites. You’ll work with multiple manufacturers, perform commissioning and testing, troubleshoot controls and electrical systems, and provide technical support to clients on site. Travel, strong troubleshooting skills, and clear communication in English and Spanish are essential.

What You'll Do

  • Install, wire, commission and test UPS systems from various manufacturers at commercial and industrial sites
  • Install, maintain and troubleshoot ASCO transfer switches and related power distribution equipment
  • Perform transformer and distribution equipment installation and routine maintenance
  • Troubleshoot controls, power systems, fuses, standby/emergency systems and networked power equipment
  • Provide on-site technical support, train client personnel, and complete clear service documentation and reports
  • Follow safety procedures, use PPE, and maintain tools, test equipment and vehicle inventory

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience installing and maintaining UPS systems and transfer switches
  • Hands-on experience with transformer and distribution equipment installation and maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for controls, electrical systems, power/fuses and standby/emergency systems
  • Experience with controls installation/programming and network equipment troubleshooting
  • Comfortable with travel (50%–75%), overnight stays, and client-facing technical support
  • Able to read electrical drawings, use test instruments, and complete accurate service documentation

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically 50%–75%
  • OSHA 30 (preferred) or OSHA 10
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certified
  • Veteran-friendly (Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps experience welcomed)
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
