VDC/BIM Coordinator — Electrical
About this role
Lead BIM-driven electrical layout, coordination, and documentation for high-priority construction projects across the U.S. You’ll own Revit and Navisworks modeling, clash detection, and production of construction documents while working directly with project managers, engineers, field crews, and vendors. This role mixes office-based BIM work with onsite project engineering: expect to build and maintain 3D models, create shop drawings and as-builts, extract takeoffs and bills of material, and provide hands-on support in the field to keep installations accurate and on schedule.
What you'll do
- • Create and maintain Revit MEP electrical models and Navisworks coordination models to meet contract LOD/IPD requirements
- • Run clash detection, develop coordination studies, and communicate issues and resolutions to project teams and subcontractors
- • Produce construction drawings, shop drawings, as-builts, and 3D walk-throughs from BIM models
- • Generate quantity takeoffs, bills of material and equipment schedules from the BIM model for procurement and field use
- • Provide onsite BIM project engineering and technical support; verify field installs against models and document changes
- • Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and other trades to resolve design issues and update digital documentation promptly
What we're looking for
- • 2+ years of hands-on BIM/VDC experience working with electrical systems in Revit MEP and Navisworks
- • Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore (or similar DOC management), and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- • Strong understanding of electrical layout, NEC and local electrical code requirements, conduit/cable routing and equipment placement
- • Experience performing clash detection, producing shop drawings, and delivering accurate as-builts
- • Clear communicator: able to document issues, lead coordination meetings, and give concise direction to field crews
- • Able to travel to job sites nationwide and spend time onsite for coordination, layout, and installation checks
Qualifications
- • Revit MEP proficiency; Revit certification preferred
- • Navisworks experience; Navisworks training or certificate a plus
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- • Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable travel availability
- • Strong written and verbal English communication
- • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certificate in BIM/CAD/Construction Technology preferred
What we offer
- • Employer-sponsored health, dental and vision plan options
- • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
- • Paid time off and company holidays
- • Training and certification support for Revit/Navisworks and industry credentials
- • Travel expense reimbursement and per-diem for overnight site visits
- • Company-provided or licensed software tools and access to the BIM team for collaboration
