Electrician VDC/BIM Coordinator
About this role
Join a focused VDC/BIM team leading BIM-based electrical layout, coordination, and documentation on high-priority projects across the country. You will own Revit and Navisworks models, run clash detection, produce construction documents, and work directly with project managers, engineers, field crews, and vendors to keep jobs on schedule. This role requires hands-on BIM work and onsite support when needed. Expect to provide layout and technical support in the field, generate quantity takeoffs and material schedules from models, and keep digital documentation current for the project team.
What you'll do
- • Build and maintain Revit MEP models and Navisworks federations for assigned projects; update models with current design and as-built conditions
- • Perform regular clash detection, produce coordination reports, and drive conflict resolution with other trades and the project team
- • Create construction drawings, shop drawings, as-builts, and Navisworks walk-throughs from BIM models
- • Generate quantity takeoffs, bills of materials and material/schedule exports from BIM models for procurement and field use
- • Provide onsite BIM/project engineering support: layout assistance, installation monitoring, and digital document control
- • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, vendors and field superintendents to resolve design and installation issues quickly
What we're looking for
- • 2+ years hands-on BIM/VDC experience with electrical systems; proven Revit MEP and Navisworks use on construction projects
- • Strong understanding of electrical layout, branch/feeder calculations, and applicable Electrical Code requirements
- • Proficient with clash detection workflows and communicating coordination needs to trades and stakeholders
- • Experience producing construction documents, takeoffs and bills of material from 3D models
- • Good communication skills; able to work with project teams, subcontractors and vendors and to give/receive direction
- • Ability to travel to project sites nationwide and provide periodic onsite BIM support
Qualifications
- • Proficient in Revit MEP and Navisworks (certification preferred)
- • Proficient with Bluebeam and common construction collaboration tools (Procore, Teams, Slack, Zoom)
- • Experience creating quantity takeoffs and material schedules from BIM models
- • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred and valid driver's license for site travel
- • Associate degree or technical certificate in BIM, drafting, electrical technology, or equivalent experience
- • Fluent English (verbal and written); additional language skills a plus
What we offer
- • Medical, dental and vision coverage available
- • Retirement plan with employer match
- • Paid time off and holidays
- • Training and continuing education support for BIM tools and certifications
- • Company-provided software and hardware (laptop, licenses) and tool/equipment stipend where applicable
- • Travel reimbursement and per diem for overnight site assignments
